Chapter 18: Precious princess.

This girl always does exactly what she is told not to do. Yesterday, when I was teaching her how to fight, I told her to first defend herself from the attack and then punch. But she punched me first, that too directly on my face and ran away from me.

When I ran after her to catch her, Max and everyone else were in front, he had a glass of water in his hand. Alora took that glass from him and as soon as I was walking forward, she spilled the water on the floor. And then what had to happen, I slipped and fell straight on my back. But I felt betrayed the most when those idiots instead of helping me, started laughing loudly. Alora took advantage of that moment and ran straight to her room.

Today after dealing with some other business, I went to my study and completed the unfinished work. That night when I and Alora were in the kitchen and I got a call, it was Domenico. And my mistake was that I didn't pick it up.

Because the previous day, Carlo and I went to give all the updates on our work to my father and had a small talk with my mom. While my father only asked me about my assignments, not caring about a girl living with us. Maybe he understood that I could make the right decisions properly. But in the case of my mom, she was babbling about Alora. The more I stayed there, she was firing every question about her only.

When I told her everything about Alora, how she would annoy me, how she would irritate me, never listened to my orders and always does the opposite, I don't know why but my mom started laughing out loud. When I asked her what was so funny in this as I was complaining about Alora and not making any jokes. She told me that it was funny because we both are sweet. So my only reply to her was silence.

While coming back, we spotted Domenico’s goons following us in just one car. When we were returning to our mansion, they started shooting from behind and as we always take our guns everywhere, we survived by shooting at their car tire which caused them to crash. After that, we went to a medical store and bought medicines for Alora.

I have started investigating that stranger with the help of Feleti. He came this morning and I asked him to give me every single piece of information about that stranger. He said he will search for his real identity and get to know his intentions in helping us.

So, putting that matter aside, we called for our arms dealers with whom we deal. The thing is we always restock our weapons twice a month as we had to use them in situations.

Two men came with a few bags, and Rome took them to the meeting room. All of us were present when we had to deal with these things. They showed us shotguns, rifles, revolvers, machine guns, pistols and bombs. I ordered my man to put it in our weapons store room as it was a safe place to keep that hidden.

The whole day went with these works, and doing calculations of money raided, possible threats from enemies, black money, etc.

It was now dinner time and everyone came inside the dining room. I spotted her first. The only person my eyes took me to. After the dinner, as we were all going to head to our rooms, Rome asked to spend some bro time, especially with me and to let Alora join too.

We all headed to the living room while Alora said she had to change into her pajamas, so she went upstairs to her room. A few minutes later, I saw her coming over while jumping like a bunny. She seemed excited, but I don't know for what reason. First of all, I didn't get what it was with her as she was always jumping?

She settled on the sofa beside Carlo and took a cushion from the side and put it on her lap to lean in. The conversation started with some individual topics but then it went to the question of who was her real best friend and all that.

"Alora, you don't have to be afraid of him. Speak freely! I know he must have threatened you to call him your best friend." Max tried to make her believe that she didn't have to worry while pointing and side glaring at Carlo.

"Objection! I did not threaten her. She said that from her heart." Carlo stated, banging his palm on the glass table before us.

I guess it was time to take them to therapy sessions and I think I also needed help.

"You all need therapy." I said but no one cared to listen to me as they emerged to become her favourite person.

The boss became an unwanted person in this conversation.

"Objection overruled! Mr. Fraud claimed to be the best friend, I am talking to the victim whom you threatened to." Max stated without bothering to make a reply to me first.

I can't do this anymore. At first, it was only four of my friends whom I was tolerating with their drama and childish behaviour but now one more added. And she was the master of creating chaos, and she was the only one who was making them even more dramatic.

I noticed that Alora was watching them with full interest while holding her storm of laughter for quite a moment but after she looked between the two of them, she finally released it. She started laughing so hard that watching her like that made me smile. A bright smile formed on my face.

Max and Carlo stopped their dramatic argument and looked at her which also made them laugh. Rome and Galen also joined. Now it seemed like a laughing session in which people laughed like maniacs to relieve stress and anger.

"No, actually we are serious. Whom do you like the most, Alora?" Galen asked while trying to control his chuckle.

"Hey! Don't create a misunderstanding. You should add the main words... otherwise, Enzo will kill us." Max whispered to him but it seemed like he wanted me to hear it.

"Oh! I mean like....as friends." Galen cleared his throat and said.

She didn't seem to understand what they were saying. She was looking at them fully confused.

I turned to Max and saw a big grin on his face, so I decided to make it disappear.

"Max! You know what? Even if you and she had watched a movie and enjoyed your hours of freedom that night, she still likes Carlo more than you." I exclaimed, showing a smirk to him. He went quiet and then he made his face like a weep. He made a sobbing sound which was fake but it pulled their attention to him.

Alora glared at me and narrowed her eyes at me warningly but I shrugged it off.

"Why do you always have to speak rudely to my P.I.C.?" She questioned me while raising an eyebrow.

"P.I.C.?" All of us asked at the same time.

She stared at us and replied," Partner in chill brother."

"Brother??" Perhaps it sounded like a scripted line but again all four of them said that altogether at the same time with surprise in their wide eyes.

I was also amused by that.

She blossomed like a flower and showed a warm, bright smile to them and said, "Yes. Not only Max but all of you. You all are equal to me. I always wanted to have a brother, an older brother, but in search of one, I found four. I am the only child of my parents, so I never knew the feelings of having siblings. Even though I had my cousin, Betty, she never really wanted me in her life. She wasn't happy with my presence, so I used to stay away from her. Also, I never had any friends in school except just a pen pal."

Suddenly, all her smiles faded away and disappointment filled her face. She bowed her head down for a second and then instantly looked up at us. Her smile came again but this time it was so bright and warm that I felt proud of myself for taking her away from that worst place.

"The day when I came here, I never thought of you guys to behave to me like I- I am a part of the family. Carlo cared for me just like a protective older brother. He even protected me from his boss. He showed me that he will always be with me, no matter the situation." She said folding her hands around Carlo's arm and resting her head on his shoulder, smiling with tears in her eyes.

Everyone became emotional by that scene, Carlo blinked again because of the tears filling inside his eyes. But still, he smiled, it was a genuine smile. He patted her head and when she looked up, he gave her a peck on her head.

Then she got up and sat beside Rome as he was seated far from her. She folded her hands around his arm as well and said, "Rome is my second older brother as much as he is my coach. He taught me how to punch someone's face whenever they talk nonsense about me. He taught me to fight for myself just like a fighter brother would teach his sister."

She came to Galen and said, "I will do my homework, sir." He chuckled at her which made her smile.

A few days ago, when Alora was casually telling us that she completed her school and that if she gets any chance, she would want to be educated further. Galen immediately took the responsibility to educate her. He said he will be glad to share his knowledge with her and by that, she started learning from him. Even if I asked her to take admission to college, she refused and said that she would be glad to learn from Galen rather than the college professor.

"My middle brother. The teacher and the master but he is also my study partner. He doesn't only teach me but he learns with me. He comes in the category of the one who always helps their sister in finishing her homework, solves her doubts, and gives candies when got the right answer." Galen patted her head which made her hair a bit messy, but she didn't seem to care about that.

The four of them were looking very happy as they were beaming wholeheartedly. I turned to that one person who was remaining, he seated folding his hands over his chest, still with that earlier weeping face.

I decided to use this moment to take my harmless revenge. Max was just sitting a little far beside me. I slid to him, leaving a proper space in between and when he turned to me with that pathetic face, a humoured laugh released from my mouth.

"Tsk...tsk...tsk. I guess I was right before, she likes them more than you."

Just like that, his weeps were increasing, and my face was forming into a satisfied smile by looking at his condition when suddenly Alora jumped in between us which made me startled while I backed off in my seat.

"I told you not to disturb my brother." She said, turning her face to me, when I saw a bit of protectiveness in her eyes.

I sneaked at Max and saw his face filled with emotions but then he tilted his head from behind her shoulder and gave me a mocking smile while rolling his eyes on me mockingly. I also rolled my eyes at myself because I was annoyed with their childishness.

"Max is my partner in the chilling time. So, he and I are in charge of breaking rules, doing skincare, watching movies, ordering pizza and every junk food, behind that monster’s back. We also even apply masks in our free time, right Max?"

"We also want to join that mask-applying spa." Rome requested her and she nodded lightly with a warm smile.

Their faces glowed and they instantly got up from their place to hug her, she welcomed that hug and I could see that her face relaxed by their care.

When she pulled from that hug, she looked at them and asked, "Can I be a part of your family?"

"You have already become the princess of the family." Carlo said to her.

That's her value in this group. She had become the most precious part of this mafia.
